Cerulean Winds responds to the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy

Cerulean Winds welcomes the UK Government’s renewed Industrial Strategy and its ambition to drive growth, innovation and job creation across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The programme’s focus on clean energy, infrastructure and regional development is exactly the kind of leadership this critical decade demands.

Core to the delivery of this strategy will be floating offshore wind and its associated supply chain, which can be the foundation on which the UK’s green industrial revolution is built.

Cerulean’s Aspen project and wider North Sea Renewables Grid will not only to deliver gigawatts of green power, but anchor an entire domestic supply chain in Scotland, ensuring skills are retained and oil and gas workers are able to transition into renewables. For these ambitions to be realised, government actions and decisions must be aligned to the mission.

From steel fabrication and marine engineering to vessel support, operations & maintenance, and port logistics, our world-class delivery consortium will yield high-value British manufacturing, skilled employment, and energy security.

Cerulean would encourage Government to accelerate the enabling conditions for floating offshore wind and embed it as a strategic priority within the Industrial Strategy. Developers stand ready to deliver on the supply chain and project execution, but without government leadership on these fronts, the UK risks missing a generational industrial opportunity and losing its position as a world leader.

Prioritising floating technology is the natural next step, one that would secure economic benefits for decades to come. We look forward to working with Government, industry and regional partners to make this happen.
